He was extremely dedicated with upholding the County, State and Federal Laws. Derk would be in his office working on cases before hours and after hours on a regular basis. He was adamant he had a strong foundation built with each case before he would take it before a Judge or Jury.
If he wasn’t positive about the answer to a question, he would do the necessary research before coming back to the questioning party with his response. I always felt confident that his guidance of our County Supervisor Board was per the law, not necessarily for the wellbeing of a particular individual or group of individuals.
